George Morant - An Australian Original
The Second Decade
A move to Queensland in 1979 brough new direction and vitriol to Morant's work. It was during this period that he painted two of what he feels to be his most important works; 'The Gift of Rats' and 'Queensland Sergeant'. The latter was acquired by the National Gallery of Australia from the artists own collection in 2000.
